Personify a Word Essays

Honors students, I read all of your essays and I was impressed with your first attempt to personify a word of your friend's choice. All your writtings are worth the read! However, I will only post one chosen essay from each honors class.

Anger - By Saranya

Red. Boiling. Anger. With its glazing, jet black eyes and blood red skin, anger is not someone you would like to meet. It finds you so easily, in the hallways, the streets, even haunts your dreams. It's like it's hiding inside of you, always waiting for the opportunity to lash out. It wants to take control of your mind, your actions, and eventually your life. Anger's wrath could be deadly, if you allow it to do its job. A devil like it can only destroy, never create. A devil like him can only turn you to dust, its fire slowly consuming you.

When it takes over you, your body goes numb, your thougths are vicious. You are vicious. Its power can be dazzling and you wouldn't even realize. It may start off with acting like its child, Irritation,; when it eventually grows on your, it unleashes its full form. Once you lose your self control, all you see is bright white lights in front of your eyes. It turns you blind. Your mouth turns into a knife, as sharp as a razor. You are unaware of what's happening in the spur of the moment, and before you know it, anger consumes you into darkness.

Goal - By Tanat B.

Goal is a person who always runs ahead of you. He taunts you, make you chase after him. When you finally reach him, he runs further ahead. Sometimes Goad runs so far ahead and sometimes, not too far away. It may take a long time to catch up with him. When you do, he gives you nothing but a few minutes of satisfaction and life goes on.

Sometimes when you run after Goal, this bully named Obstacle will try to stop you. Obstacle is just everywhere to stop you. He could even make Goal seems impossible to reach. When Obstacle blocks you in every ways, there is always one person who will help you reach Goal. Her name is Motivation. When everything seems impossible, she will be there to push you and encourage you.

Goal sometimes wait with his friend, Reward. When you reach Goal, Reward would be there to help you rest up until you are ready to chase after Goal again. Sometimes Reward won't be there and all those time spent chasing after Goal would seem pointless. That is not true. Reward is always there. She may be hiding, but she won't make the time spent chasing after Goal useless.
